Orange Calcite the “Enhancement Stone” and “Stone of Happiness”; was first named as a mineral by Gaius Plinius Secundus (Pliny the Elder) in 79 AD. The name Calcite is taken from both the Latin word calx and the Greek chalix, meaning lime, as Calcite is found in many limestone deposits. Orange Calcite is a commonly found crystal and imported mainly from Mexico but also found in Brazil, the Czech Republic and Peru.

It is a Calcium Carbonate of the carbonates class of crystals, comes in various shades of orange and is translucent to opaque in appearance. Calcium carbonate is the main component in limestone, marble and most stalactites and stalagmites. Calcite, in general, can be found in many colours such as black, blue, brown, colourless (clear), green, grey, honey, orange, red and white, sometimes with a white to grey streak within it, each one resonating with the chakra that its colour matches.

Orange Calcite has an energising vibration which can also assist in removing karmic hooks. It will help remove negative energy from your physical and etheric body, thus restoring emotional, mental and physical balance, making it a perfect crystal for anyone trying to break out of obsessive behaviours, old patterns or overcoming shyness.

It will also help with the release of past traumas that prevent you from moving forward with your life. It helps support spiritual development and has been compared to the spiritual evolution of humankind as both go through many transformations along their journey.

Bringer of Joy

Orange Calcite is not associated with any particular Angel. However, Archangel Azrael, whose name means whom God helps, resonates with Yellow Calcite. He is the Angel of Comfort and Grief and the Patron Angel of the Clergy.

Orange Calcite is primarily associated with the Base or Root Chakra (Muladhara), relating to survival and security. Its secondary Chakra is the Sacral Chakra (Svadhistana), relating to creativity, sensuality, sexuality and desire for pleasure. It also works well with the Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura), relating to our identity and our power in this world. It will cleanse and energise all of the lower chakras and in particular, will clear negative energy held in the Sacral Chakra.

In crystal healing, Orange Calcite is said to help with symptoms relating to the following illnesses and areas of the body: abdominal problems, blood clotting, bone disorders, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), ear infections, gallbladder, hormonal balance, immune system strengthening and support, intestinal disorders, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), joint pain, mucus, ovarian disorders or cysts, reproductive organs, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), skeletal system, skin infections and irritations, teeth and tumours. It also aids calcium and nutrient absorption.

Emotionally, Orange Calcite is said to assist with anxiety, creativity, depression, joy, laziness, motivation, phobias, relieving stress related to emotional issues, revitalisation, sexual abuse, sexual energy, strengthening self-belief and reducing suicidal thoughts. It helps balance the emotions and releases energy locked into the emotional body relating to abuse, anger, guilt and shame, thus allowing for positive energy to replace it in the auric field.
