Opalite is also mistakenly known as “Opalised Fluorite”, “Purple Opal” and “Tiffany Stone”. Natural Opalite is a rare crystal but can be found occasionally in its natural state in Africa and Brazil. In its natural state, it is made up of opalised volcanic ash; in its manmade state, it is made from silicon dioxide, dolomite and metal to create its opalescent appearance. Some Opalite from China is also made from synthetic glass. It can appear clear or milky with a shimmering iridescence of green, blue, red and amber to it and is translucent to semi-opaque in appearance.

Opalite has a subtle nurturing energy which can assist communication on all levels and, in particular, the strength to verbalise deep or hidden feelings. It is a crystal of love which only rewards faithful lovers and is said to help form lasting romantic bonds by supporting fidelity and devotion whilst being open and honest.

It can help resolve past hurts by releasing painful memories. Opalite is primarily associated with the Third Eye or Brow Chakra (Ajna) relating to insight, intuition, awareness and guidance. Its secondary Chakra is the Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) relating to spiritual connection, understanding and enlightenment. It can remove energy blockages of the chakras and meridians.
