A Crystal of the Purple Ray
Charoite, also called “Lilac Stone” and “Charoite Jade,” was first discovered in the 1940s in Russia along the Chara (or Charo) River in the Sakha Republic of Eastern Siberia. It was not known outside of Russia until the 1970s so is still a relatively “new” crystal. The word “chary” means magic or charms in the Russian language.
Charoite is made up of Hydrated Potassium Calcium Sodium Silicate Hydroxide Fluoride from the silicates class of crystals. It typically comes in various shades of purple, with a swirling pattern of black, brown, white or lilac within the crystal; which is caused by inclusions of other minerals, such as white calcite.
Charoite is a powerful crystal of the purple ray and is known for its transformative and grounding properties. It is said to encourage a path of service to humanity. It cleanses the aura and chakras by transmuting negative energy into healing energy and opens our hearts to unconditional love whilst helping with self-esteem issues. It is also a protective crystal offering protection from psychic attack and will protect healers from any negative energy from their clients.
Charoite is connected with Sophia, Goddess of Wisdom and Contradiction Personified, Minerva, the Etruscan Goddess of Wisdom; and Vac, the Hindu Goddess of the Spoken Word. Vac is the one that is said to have uttered the OM of creation and is the mother of the four sacred Vedas.
Clearing Past Life Patterns
Charoite is not associated with any particular Angel. However, violet crystals are associated with Archangel Jeremiel who is known to serve humanity and is said to help heal your emotions.
Charoite is primarily associated with the Third Eye Chakra (Ajna), relating to insight, intuition, awareness and guidance. Its secondary Chakra is the Crown Chakra (Sahasrara), relating to spiritual connection, understanding and enlightenment. It provides strong physical and emotional healing energies which align and balance the chakras.
In crystal healing, it is said to be effective in reducing aches and pains, particularly those of arthritis, headaches, migraine and cramp. It can help speed up the healing processes of the body, treat problems with the eyes, gout, blood pressure, heart related conditions, pancreas, liver and pineal gland. It supports the liver in detoxifying the body, especially after giving up smoking, drinking or taking drugs as well as healing general conditions of the nervous system.
On an emotional level, it also gives relief to those who have been diagnosed with ADHD, Asperger’s syndrome, autism, and OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). Charoite improves sleep, overcomes insomnia, sleepwalking, night terrors, or talking during sleep and also helps prevent nightmares.
Charoite is not a traditional birthstone but is one of the natural birthstones of those born under the sign of Capricorn, 21st December to 19th January, and is a modern birthstone for the Zodiac signs of Scorpio, 23rd October to 21st November, and Sagittarius, 22nd November to 21st December.
Meditation
Charoite is a wonderful crystal to use in meditation as it transmutes negativity and helps ground the spiritual self. It helps raise your vibrations and may also allow you to connect to past lives in order to redress karma on a personal and collective level; whilst clearing negative past life patterning within the DNA.
Affirmation: I am open to unconditional love.
Important to Know
WARNING: As with all crystals you use regularly, don’t forget to cleanse and recharge it at least once a month.
For crystal healers who use crystals in their work, they should be cleansed after each client to remove any negative energy prior to being used on someone else.
PLEASE REMEMBER: Although the powers of crystals and stones are well documented and have been proven to help bring positivity into people's lives, they are never a substitute for medical advice.
