Blue Tiger Eye, also known as Hawk’s Eye, Falcon’s Eye and Rodusite, works predominantly on the Throat and Third Eye Chakras but can also help to open and clear the chakras from the heart upwards. It is one of the quartz group of chalcedonies.
As would be expected of a stone that resembles the eye of a bird of prey, Blue Tiger Eye is a great stone for seeing the bigger picture, seeing past the obvious and allowing deeper insight into things. It is said to aid and increase the sensory gifts such as the “clairs” clairaudience (hearing), claircognizance (knowing), clairgustation (taste), clairolfaction (smell), clairsentience (feeling / sensing), and clairvoyance (seeing) as well as astral travel. It is also reputed to help ward off nightmares and protect the user from malice stemming from jealousy, and ground you and bring calm to chaotic situations.
On a physical level, Blue Tiger Eye is said to calm anxiety, aid depression, SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) and fatigue, and can also help alleviate eye problems relating to the inability to focus properly. It is also known to slow an overactive metabolism, regulate hormones and bring the body’s biochemistry back to within normal levels.
If you need to speak in public or give a presentation and you have that throat-tightening feeling of anxiety, this stone is said to relax your throat and allow you to speak with confidence, clarity and speak your personal truth. It is also a great stone to use to aid creativity and release writer’s block.
In ancient history, Blue Tiger Eye may have been known as Wolf Stone, and possibly as “oculus belus,” dedicated to the Mesopotamian God Belus. The stone was deemed to be all-seeing and a stone of protection, as well as good luck and fortune, warding off the evil eye.
Blue Tiger Eye is not a traditional or natural birthstone or a Zodiac stone. However, Gold Tiger Eye is the Zodiac stone for those born under the sign of Gemini, May 21 to June 20, and a natural birthstone of those born in Midsummer, July 22 - August 21.
Use Blue Tiger Eye for mediation when you wish to see a clearer picture of issues you are trying to deal with. It will aid you to see the bigger picture and link to claircognizance. Alternatively, hold this stone when meditating to aid and increase relaxation.
Affirmation: I speak my truth with clarity and confidence.
Important to Know
As with all crystals you use regularly, don’t forget to cleanse and recharge it at least once a month.
For crystal healers who use crystals in their work, they should be cleansed after each client to remove any negative energy prior to being used on someone else.
PLEASE REMEMBER: Although the powers of crystals and stones are well documented and have been proven to help bring positivity into people's lives, they are never a substitute for medical advice.
