I've just received this in the post three days ago and read it in one session. This story is so cute and it also is so tender and loving. The author's dedication is addressed to those who are unable to conceive a child of their own. She encourages others by sharing her own history of being adopted and having children she gave birth to herself, so she is familiar with both ways of building a family and says both are equally valid and strong. Schaefer doesn't merely write a love story, she shines her light, giving hope and spreading joy in the process. And still, the intimate scenes are really hot. And it all works! All of it! I love it! A great read, not only at Christmas time.

He-Seal & She-Wolf! OMG! Hilarious! This story is possibly the funniest of Tirza Schaefer's shorter novellas. The absolute highlight is the aged and demented she-wolf Vicky who plays a central part in the plot. I have literally been laughing tears! My bedroom is in the basement and there are not many authors who can make me feel hot down there, but Tirza Schaefer does it time and again. Overachiever, haha! Seriously? I was in a sweat each time Ace and Sutani get it going on! This book is a little gem and has a proud place on my shelf. I love the cover as well, as Wolf is one of my power animals I work closely with. So on so many levels, this book totally hit the spot for me, or maybe less seriously expressed, Vicky the wolf barfed all over my spot, haha! This is just great! I want more!

I’ve seen the author has a lot of novels with US military men, but also others. I’d be curious to find out how she got the idea to suddenly come up with a Bulgarian love story. Be that as it may, this story is sweet, cute, sexy, hot, you learn about an author’s work and Bulgarian culture, as well as LGBTQ rights and the history of such a foundation that helps gay kids to come out and deal with the often emotionally distressing reactions of family and friends in a traditional society. You also learn about their joy of life, their artistic side and the humour of old men and young women. I love how Tirza Schaefer always weaves so much other information into her romantic stories and totally gets away with it. It’s still all light-hearted – and very hot – entertainment! Tirza is a budding author very well done.

Looks like there is a happy end right at the beginning. Tirza created a very highly visible character Luis, this badass Marine. All full of himself, larger than life, thinking he’s God’s gift to womanhood and basically full of you-know-what. Or so Ricarda thinks. That is until he actually takes action and puts money where his mouth is. She finds, he didn’t promise too much and almost against her will, she comes to respect him for the man he is and very quickly, this is followed by deeper feelings. Looks like there is a happy end right at the beginning, if only… A shootout, a run from a small island with a Seal Luis has sent to protect Ricarda, they go swimming with dolphins, make their way from Italy through the Alps to Switzerland and when Ricarda finally finds out the truth, she must decide between honour and love. Fast-paced, hot and crazy! Love it!

This book is hilarious, exciting, contradictory and far from being PC (politically correct), and yet, it works! Jada is a left-wing intellectual, pacifist hippie university lecturer teaching philosophy with a spiritual emphasis and Kyle is a US Marine SpecOps officer that happens to live temporarily under the same roof. Jada is the aggressive, embittered and angry one, Kyle keeps his cool and even trumps Jada’s colleagues in chivalry. There are adventure, funny scenes that make you laugh tears and a fast-paced storyline that is as entertaining as it is educational in terms of admonishing us not to think in stereotypes because those who seemingly live very opposing lives to ourselves sometimes have more in common with us than the people who belong to our group, community or tribe. It is as much a love story as it is a comedy with an undercurrent of reminding us not to cast that first stone… This is Tirza Schaefer’s most extensive work thus far and she excelled in her writing and content alike, her novels all being complex and surprising each time. I cannot recommend Opposites Attract highly enough. A brilliant read!

Oh, maaaannn, have two people ever taken their time to finally get together. Then again, Harry and Sally were worse perhaps, but not nearly as arousing! The book starts with two people, Jada and Kyle, being thrown together at a friend’s place under one roof and spending a week of hating and nearly throwing themselves at each other with passion. This book makes for some explosive content and you would think, they never meet again as neither one dares to contact the other, in spite of fending off a drunk, an ultra-spiritual (white) Native American shaman (who cares about colour, the New Agers are all One, anyway), a pair of plastic boobs (attached to a rather brainless specimen of the human race) - and each other. But when they meet again and Kyle saves Jada’s life in earnest from a sociopathic philosophy lecturer, the two get closer at last. But not THAT close! It takes a fake engagement, a tirade of jealousy and a move across the country to get the two together again just when they’d thought they’d finally had each other but didn’t. This is possibly the best and most adventurous and hilarious way to prove that we often have more in common with those we are seemingly so very different from than with the people closest to us. And we learn all that with a lot of heat and a few good laughs on the way. Excuse me while I write a mail to Tirza Schaefer to ask if Kyle has a brother… Read it yourself, but be sure you are prepared for all eventualities!

This book is hilarious and serious all at once, even though it doesn’t lack the sizzle that makes for a great romance. Schaefer uses two protagonists and turns their role labels around. The military man is the peaceful, reasonable one and the left-wing intellectual philosophy lecturer with hippie tendencies the aggressive, intolerant person. This makes for a dynamic that is as unusual as it is explosive. And when the two finally get each other, Disney-style fireworks are lame in comparison! On the side, you get a little education in philosophy and art without it being boring or didactic. Very, very cool book!

An action-packed ride on the wild side. Born To Be Wild is an action-packed and exciting book from start to finish. I actually read the whole book in one sitting as once I got a few pages in I couldn't put it down. I really liked how the author has woven quite a bit of humour into the story and how well written each character was, especially Carry and Dan who at first appeared a bit incompatible but you see how well they work together very quickly in the story and really root for them throughout. Although the erotic scenes were excellent and very well written I liked how they were not the sole focus of the story and there was a solid plot behind it with plenty going on. Overall an excellent adult book that is very hard to put down once you start. I will definitely be reading more by Tirza Schaefer.

A sex-filled thrill ride. Born To Be Wild is an erotic romance story between lovers Carry and Dan. They meet due to Carry's car breaking down along the highway and she flags down this good looking man on a Harley. She's not too sure if she did the right though after seeing how massive he is and all the tattoos he proudly wears, but he helps her out of a bad situation and introduces her to his biker friends. He calls her "his woman" and she's not really comfortable with that at first, but she warms up to the idea of being with him and soon discovers how much she likes him! But Dan is keeping something from Carry ... Will she flee or stay when she discovers his secret? Read the story to find out! A very good read!

This book is WILD!!! And I think, the title is less a homage to the song and the movie Easy Rider and more to her own beautifully wicked, sexy, naughty, beautiful, loving, deliciously dirty, wild and free spirit. This is how I feel about it at least after reading this book. I was in awe with Tirza Schaefer’s works before, but she managed to top it yet again. The pretty little florist and the wild tattooed biker. And things are – how could it be any different – not what they seem at first. Doesn’t mean that biker Dan isn’t giving Carry the hots to the point she finally comes on to him and has a wild ride in the very first night, because he does. And then there are the merry mechanics. OMG!!! I laughed tears!!! You HAVE to read this book to meet Bear – sorry – Mr. Bear. He’s like a cross between a giant and Paddington perhaps. I’m not sure whether Schaefer had the British children’s classic in mind, but I wouldn’t be surprised at all, given her amazing creativity if she had taken Paddington and crossed him with a big, burly Southern mechanic who is perhaps a little simple-minded, but carries his heart in the right place and a torch for Miss Carry, or Mrs. Dan, as he calls her alternately. And the fact that the hottest scene is at a wedding which is that of Dan’s closest friends Ranger and Donna on their farm is perhaps a little unusual, too. After all, it’s the happy couple who are supposed to have the most amount of fun. But these two break every taboo and do it with such charm, adventure and at times hilarity that you cannot help but adore them both. Finally, they even save a little old lady from a shady lawyer and the entire town in the process. I could go on forever, but I don’t want to confuse you. It’ll all make perfect sense when you read it yourself. So read it yourself! Love it!

Great read for anyone who loves erotica. What is better than a steamy erotic thriller? A steamy erotic thriller that has a fantastic story plot mixed with humorous situations. After a horrible date that resulted in being threatened by a sleazy lawyer Carry leaves town only to end up broke down 100 miles outside of town. She's rescued by a very manly biker who is not at all what he seems. The sex scenes are well written and not at all raunchy. The characters are believable and I found myself rooting for Carry and Dan from the minute Dan offered Carry a ride.

OMG, is Jake hot or what?! I wanted to jump right into the book and get him for myself. First of all, I have read all the previous Tamera Shobhan Erotic novels, so I didn’t read the description of this book before I bought it. I thought the girl was going to fall in love with the rapper. The last book was a rockstar after all. But that would have been predictable, right? So it’s the security guy and he is sooooo SWEET!!! Not in an unmanly way, but the difference between how he treats Charlotte and how the rapper KJ acts with women is parallel realities apart. And of course, our female lead falls in love with Mr. Right. Everything seems perfect from the start and they even get over the long separation of Jake having to go on a world tour with KJ. They even get over the two-continents-divide. And then, as is always so often in real life, they don’t get over the past. First Charlotte and then Jake. This book is kind of back to front. It starts great and then things start to happen, ending in a complete disaster and the breakup of the relationship. It’s the best example of what happens when you let fear and pride get in the way. Luckily, as with all great romantic literature, love wins the day! But it’s quite a jitterbug ride to get there and on the way, you want to shake both of the main characters back to their senses. Still, this is one EPIC love story. Tirza Schaefer manages to always find a new twist, a new tale to spin her narrative into a different direction than in her previous works. Happy endings are always the ultimate aim in romantic literature, with or without explicitly hot and sizzling scenes that make you want to dig your nails into the headboard (in Schaefer’s case, definitely with!). But ultimately, it’s the journey that counts how to get there, the winding, twisting, sometimes straight, sometimes winding path it takes. I’m in love with this author’s works, spiritual, poetic and romantic alike. And if she brings out a book in yet another genre, I am sure, I will love it, too! She is just that good! Read it and judge for yourself!

This needs to be in a television series. There are passion, romance and intense moments of decision making. I love how the main character makes the common typical reactions that most women have, to be vulnerable but desiring empowerment. It has some sexy moments like any erotic novel, but this work is done so well. It is not just about sex but an entire drama, arguments between the couple secrets revealed and family involvements. Get the book! So far this author is killing it with great writing.

This is the last of Tirza Schaefer’s erotic books I have read. As you can see, the author hasn’t become boring to me and I am impatiently awaiting new publications – not only in this genre! “Cloud Nine” is the story of a rockstar falling in love “against his will” with a girl who turns his life and all career choices he’s previously made upside-down. It is a great example that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, too! We are all too eager to jump to conclusions, judge (mostly too harshly) and condemn our fellow human beings without bothering to look more deeply. When we do, however, we discover the beauty in so many people’s characters which we would have missed at first sight. This book starts with such an error of judgement, goes on to a sizzling scene high up in the sky and even with a down-to-earth view overcomes obstacles and preconceived ideas to blossom into something greater, something beautiful that would not have been discovered without an open heart and mind. This story is as hot and entertaining as it conveys deeper wisdom without lifting a finger into your face in order to do so. It is more that the characters and narrative speak for themselves and through their experience open up new ways of thinking and perception in the reader that come as surprisingly as they come naturally and gently. Suffice it to say, I have become a great fan of Tirza Schaefer’s and am looking forward to reading a lot more of her in the future! I love the way she masters the art of engaging storytelling with covertly conveying teachings of love and humanity through her books – not only in her erotica! I am definitely seeing her rise to set a new standard of writing: not only outside the box but to a perception that goes well beyond any concept of boxes. Her work has certainly touched me on so many levels and I am eagerly awaiting more to come from this awe-inspiring woman!

Sealed Brothers starts with a major explosion in a bar after a US Navy Seal, Austen, has just returned stateside. He is rescued by hippie millionaire Haylee who also sets out to save his life at the hospital, protecting him from the medical staff and then going on to help his entire family in one way or another, starting with putting up Austen's brother Ash in her guestroom. I am not going to tell you what happens then, but it's amazing, the many different facets author Tirza Schaefer comes up with to enrich her storyline. And if you think she has already fired off all her explosives in the beginning, think again! As they say, the best is yet to come! Brilliant book! Read it yourself!

Suffice it to say that initial attraction is not always that what it seems and that a friend can support you in your own growth of knowing, you deserve not only more, but you deserve the best! A superb erotic military romance. A carefree quasi-hippie girl goes on a blind date arranged through a dating site and ends up hooking up with a masculine Navy Seal. The morning after is a bit awkward, but neither one can deny or resist the strong attraction they feel for each other. Unfortunately, the Seal gets sent to Afghanistan. When he returns to Germany, he informs the girl that he must move back to the US permanently and wants her to return with him. The story itself doesn't have a lot of twists and turns, there's no doubt in the reader's mind what will happen, but the story earns the 5-star rating by delivering some of the hottest, paint peeling sex ever committed to a story. It is vividly described and very arousing. If you like military romances filled with hot, hot, hot sex, this is definitely for you.

This book is erotic with some fantastic fully detailed sex scenes. But what makes this book so much more than just porn is the great storyline. The main characters meet on a dating site and have a wonderful first date. They quickly fall for each other but he ends up having to go to Afghanistan. When he comes back to Germany he asks her to come back with him to the United States. She has quite the decision to make and I believe she makes the right one. I loved this book by Tirza Schaefer just as much as I loved reading her other books.

As a bit of a hippie myself, the main character in this story immediately caught my attention. This story follows the life of a woman in Germany who meets a US Marine when he's deployed over there. They connect on a dating site, spend one passionate night together, and then things go awry when the marine first deploys to Afghanistan, and then must return to the US. Left in Germany, she must decide if she's going to stay in her comfort zone, or take the risk and leave all she knows for a chance at love.
There are so many ways this tale caught my attention. I'm a bit of a hippie who's currently madly in love with my very masculine-macho military man. We're the exact couple this tale was written about (heck, we even met on a dating site!). So the fact that I could so deeply relate to the characters immediately made me fall into the storyline. I loved how the main female really spoke to me and was so beautifully developed. Sometimes it's hard to connect with the female characters in romance and erotica novels, but in this story, I felt like everything cliqued easily, and the characters easily stole my heart. Mister military guy was equally as appealing and the entire story, full of its twists and turns, had me begging the author to just let them be together already!
This was such a fun read. There are definitely some very risque parts, and the passionate sex within moments of their first introduction was a lot of fun for me. As a girl who tends to move a little quicker, I loved seeing a main character in a romance/erotica follow the same habits. I just felt like everything about this book really related with me as a person and that made it so enjoyable for me to delve into.
This was just yet another brilliant, fun, sexy novel by Tirza. I've read one of her other books so far ('Birthday Present') and absolutely loved it. This book, I loved equally as much if not more. And I cannot wait to delve into more of her work.

Dating A Hero is the third book I have read by Tirza Schaefer in as many days. As with the previous two I found that once I had started I could not put it down and finished the book in just one sitting. I liked the idea of their relationship starting on a dating site as this is becoming more and more common yet so few authors use it in their books. The characters are great and you genuinely want everything to work out for them as the story takes a few twists and turns that could potentially end their relationship.
Overall a fantastic adult book with real substance. Tirza Schaefer is fast becoming one of my favourite authors and I will definitely​ be keeping an eye out for more of her work.

This erotic tale combines human weakness with true heroism in a most human form we can all relate to – the consequences of which inspire dreams of a greater, grander life, not only in romantic and erotic terms. This book is charming, endearing, hot and spell-binding all at once! My only criticism: It ends too soon! I could have read another few hundred pages of this lovely couple. Then again, to my delight, the author has more books on offer, and I am going to read them all!

What you've got here in "Chopped Encounter" is Tirza Schaefer writing and lawd have mercy, this is a hothothothot story! I fell in love with all the characters in only the first four pages (prologue). This is how romantic erotica should be written, and Schaefer is clearly a pro. The pace of the story is excellent, there are no cliches, and the relationship between uber-stud US Marine Captain Wayne Turner, and the lovely and gorgeous German nurse, Kayla, is very sweet and romantic. And sexy. And hot. And...wow. There's a ton of heart and feeling in Schaefer's words--it's not just sex on paper, but real feelings to go with it. She clearly knows the secret to romantic erotica: Have men treat women the way you wish they would in real life (aka: not self-absorbed). The story is really, really good. This book doesn’t go out with a bang, it starts with it! Who wouldn’t love to have a handsome US Marines officer literally fall from the sky for them? That’s what happens here. And it doesn’t get boring after that, either. The story is fast-paced and sizzling, but it’s not an ordinary romance novel, either. There is spirituality in it, the beauty of true friendship is highlighted on both sides of the main characters, and it teaches you that if you overcome your fears and go at a relationship with honourable intentions and mutual trust, things can work even between a military man and a spiritual, peace-loving hippie-cum-healer. The secret is to let each other be free in their individual expressions of how they want to live their lives and find common ground beyond physical attraction to sustain a loving, long-term relationship and happy marriage! Hallelujah indeed! Just to imagine a Marine, Captain Wayne Turner, falling from the sky like a raindrops into my lap... And it gets better after that! He doesn't mind that Kayla is in the middle of a New Ager spiritual drumming circle session. The two hit it off from the start, but then the past catches up on many levels and it takes a dying veteran and a paranoid best friend to sort it all out. But seriously, some of the hottest scenes I have read without being cheap and sleazy. Tirza Schaefer has a way of making the kinkiest scenes sound empowering and freeing because with all the heat and kink, she doesn't see the need to use derogatory and negative words, such as c**t, wh**e, sl*t and the like which usually other authors use that write very explicit kinky scenes. It's all a matter of your mindset and I love how Schaefer expresses herself without losing any of the steam and kink in the process, but rather adding to it. And moreover, Tirza wouldn't be herself, if she didn't weave something very profound into the story, a dying old man and how to handle being there for a loved one while passing over without distressing yourself or them, but rather, allowing it to be an empowering, liberating and deeply loving and healing process. Yes, and again, she writes it in such a way that it works perfectly. At the end of the day, that's what this book is all about: love on all levels, all areas of life. But read it for yourself! It's beautiful!

Birthday Present is the second book I have read by Tirza Schaefer and she really does have a talent for putting two characters that on first glance do not go together and really making them work. Tirza Schaefer is one of very few authors who write adult fiction that has actual depth, character progression and realistic dialogue. This is a genre filled with a lot of trash lately and it is refreshing to find a quality author who can write books with substance for actual adults. Chahna and Hunter are brilliant characters and it is great to see their relationship grow from their meeting in a bar in Germany. As the girlfriend of a military man and an avid reader of literotica 'Birthday Present' caught my eye right away. Anything, where the lead character is in the military really, touches home with me, and I had a lot of fun eagerly digging into this particular read. In 'Birthday Present' Chahna is your typical sceptical-of-men woman. She doesn't want her heartbroken and she has a fearful outlook on love. When US Marine Officer, Hunter Sagiago steps into her life during his deployment in Germany, though, Chahna may not be able to resist the urges of his strong and powerful pull. Hunter has already fallen for Chahna, and although he could have practically any woman he wanted, he's determined to have her.
This story is a fun read that takes place in a military setting. I can tell that the author either did a significant amount of research into the US Marine Corps or has dated or been related to someone in the service. There were a lot of aspects of my daily life, as the girlfriend of a boy in the US Army, that I found strewn throughout the story. The German setting was a nice touch, and I liked the foreign aspect, even though the main character was an American.
Chahna was extremely relatable to me. Guarded and a bit sceptical of love, I feel like many modern women know the feelings Chahna faces towards relationships. That made her an especially appealing character to me, and I felt very attached to her right from the beginning. Just as with Chahna, it took me a while to warm up to Hunter. But let's be honest; this hunk of a Marine is hard not to fall for. With the author's brilliant character development, it's hard not to adore Chahna right away- and once you're warmed up to Hunter you spend a majority of the story rooting for these two to just fall in love.

Thank God, a regency romance that is not fading into the fireplace every time it gets hot or is totally soppy with the damsel in distress fainting every five minutes. Lizzy, the female lead is very much her own woman and she knows how to manipulate, too. Until the duke comes along and she suddenly experiences a whole new world of emotions. Still, she openly questions societal standards and takes conscious decisions regarding her sexuality, as opposed to merely being swept off her feet in a whirlwind of brain-paralysing passion. This story evolves not without challenges because in those times, the virtue of an unmarried noblewoman was her highest good and she would lose all her value and social standing without it. Thank God for happy endings and an adventurous and empowering path Lizzy takes to get the man of her dreams!

After reading first the author’s spiritual book and her magical travelogue which I loved, I went on to read the first of her erotic publications “Snake Goddess Rising” which I loved so much that this is the second of her erotic books I’ve purchased. This book is very different from the first. It is a historical romance with an added dark erotic streak that threads throughout the work which is as atypical for the average historical romance book as it is liberating. In fact, the main female character is anything but the helpless little virgin bride that we are used to from more traditional works in this genre. The lady questions established social conventions, takes conscious decisions for her own course of action and is not merely a “victim” of the overriding, worldly charm of the male hero’s charms which she falls prey to. As much as she is finding herself falling in love with the Dark Duke, Lizzy still finds a balance in her head between passion and thinking, surrender and making conscious choices. She is an empowered, strong woman without losing her femininity in the process. An absolutely charming read and full of sizzle and heat! I’m going to buy the next book now! I’m now definitely hooked on this author!

A Modern kind of Austenesque! I am sure The Dark Duke was inspired by Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" (my personal all-time favourite book in the world), as indeed have been many other books before this. This can go either way, headed for complete disaster or work really well. This book, as all of Tirza Schaefer's, whether they be romantic or spiritual, belongs to the latter category. The cover alone makes you feel you're about to be given some highly-priced, gold-plated luxury candy and the storyline inside reveals that you hold a gem in your hands indeed. I love how Tirza paints a historical heroine with the courage and conviction of the modern-day, yet at the same time not imprinting modern mentality on a person who has supposedly lived a couple of hundreds of years previously. Women were treated differently then and they had a completely different mindset than women do nowadays. What strikes me is this balance between modern free thought and historically accurate modes of behaviour and rules. Thus, Tirza's Lizzy is an outstanding character, a woman strong enough to fight for her happiness, yet sensitive enough to have all the fears a woman of her time would really have had about being cast out by her family if she disgraced them, etc. I'd say, this is my favourite of all of Schaefer's books, but I think that every time I read one, really. And they are all special and unique. It never gets boring or predictable. From India to regency to US biker gangs and SpecOps Seals and Marines or a Bulgarian publisher, Tirza Schaefer has more great stories in one head than most other people put together. I know, I'm repeating myself, BUT... get it, read it, love it, work yourself into a sweat in more ways than one, from righteous indignation at the cruel inhumane set of historical society to really steamy over those scenes when Lizzy and The Dark Duke are alone together. - Wooohooo!!!

Snake Goddess Rising isn’t exactly the title you would expect from a romantic or erotic novel. It piqued my interest, so I bought it. I thought, at worst, I might gain some insights into some religious Indian (Hindu) practices. How this could be combined with the genre under which I found this book, I had no idea, but I was going to find out! The book surprised me upon reading even further. Not only does this narrative work on so many seemingly opposing levels, but it also works in its entirety! You don’t have to be spiritually inclined to feel with the main character, a German woman travelling to India in the footsteps of her hippie mother to pay homage to a serpent deity, but the relationship she builds with the hero of the story is one imbued with gentle kindness, love and growing respect on both sides. An old grandmother and a wise and humorous Hindu priest all play a part as this story unfolds and the affection, as well as the attraction of the two main characters, progresses naturally from sizzling undercurrents to an explosion of fireworks. And all of this before the backdrop of a culture that is as enchanting and beautiful as it can be at times superstitious and fearful. Deep connection with spirituality combine with social conventions, sometimes at war with one another, but it also shows that with an open, loving heart, you can build a solid bridge not only between nations and cultures but also on a very personal and intimate level that is as enriching as it is rewarding. The story doesn’t really need any erotic components to stand in its own right, yet the marriage between all those factors works surprisingly well and adds yet another glorious level to the whole! I will definitely be reading more from this author!

The book starts with a woman looking at a picture that was taken of a man at a party. And she speaks to him, recounting the events that happened on that particular day. It's a story of love at first sight, instant mutual attraction, but one that goes way deeper than the skin and the little details of character and skills you get acquainted with throughout give this narration a very real and human touch. The man, Alex, is as much a hero as a big, tough Marine can be, but in the story, he turns out to be just as sensitive, affectionate and even somewhat insecure about Merit as she is about him. Once she opens up and takes a plunge, then he does, and vice versa. The two protagonists play the ball to each other, neither is the only active part with the other one merely passively reacting. I like this kind of balance. I love how much strength lies in their simple humanity. And when you get to the end, you had forgotten how the book started with that one picture. But you are reminded again. And the outcome is more than a little surprising. But oh so sweet! Clutching my heart here. If you want true romance, this is it. It's a short novella, but all the more intensely sweet for it! Tirza Schaefer has done it again. Not an ordinary novel by any means. Read it!

You want to crawl inside the book, grab them by the throat and wring some sense into them. Or maybe just shake them by the shoulders... And when the two protagonists finally get their hands (and more) on each other, it's like a cataclysmic relief of epic proportions for the reader. For me. And you when you read it. Do! I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this book, but as I myself have travelled the picturesque area of the Eifel’s Mosel Valley and surrounding places, as well as having read the author’s book “Poetry From The Heart” which I loved exceedingly, I decided to purchase this book as well. Upon reading, I fell in love with the Eifel all over again, but not only that. I was laughing at the first chapter featuring the most charming dialogue between a cow and a little girl, dove into the magical fairy kingdom of an enchanted house and garden, and re-lived the timewarp of being in ancient fairytale castles all over again.
The point of view from which Tirza Schaefer describes her experiences and sightseeing is unique and heart-touching. Her autobiographical narrative makes you wonder at the richness and depth of her perceptions and the expression is drawing you ever deeper into a family of three generations which is as endearing as it is a wonderful example of how children’s minds work, how to best raise them to pay homage to their imaginative and creative abilities, as it is showing you a different approach to dealing with little everyday occurrences.
The author thinks outside the box. I doubt, there are any boxes at all in her worldview and perception of reality. This book is a gem, and not only for people wishing to travel to that region or those having an interest in literature for and about families and children. It is one of a kind, a jewel in the often drab world of travel reports. But I’m boxing that which cannot be put into a box! Read for yourself and prepare to never look at the world quite the same way as you have before!
