Peacock

I have loved animals as far back as I can remember. I played with my "imaginary" animal friend as a child, not knowing at the time what a power animal was. I had vivid dreams and visions throughout my life. I also felt drawn to different animals at different times in my life and when I found out about power or spirit animals, I finally understood why. Reading up on those animals and then going on shamanic journeys and meditations afforded me the entry point into the world of animals on a spiritual level. The reason I prefer the term power animal to spirit animal is simply because it feels more grounded and manifested to me. You are, of course, welcome to use whatever term you like; power animal, spirit animal, animal guide...You choose. The important thing is to have a strong, loving connection and to trust and ask your animal to teach you and share its wisdom with you.

Spiritual Ascension

Peacock stands for spirituality. It is sometimes associated with pride, but it actually symbolises spiritual ascension. The eyes painted on its feathers help you gain clarity and connect you to your intuition and higher self. In this way, you can see your soulpath more clearly.

Inner beauty, balance and clear vision are as much part of Peacock’s symbolism as is an awakening to your own spiritual awareness with which will come the understanding that you are immortal. You are made of energy, and energy cannot be created or destroyed. It can only change form. Energy is infinite, and so are you.

When you look at yourself through the eyes of love, you will see your own beauty and stop judging and condemning yourself or others. With this knowledge, your self-confidence grows, because you no longer talk negatively to yourself.

In this way, you are also becoming a leader. When you are unafraid to express your highest truth, you speak, talk and act with conviction and in freedom. This will set an example for others to show that it is alright to do this. In this way, Peacock also strengthens your leadership skills and helps you to confidently take on this role without being vain, arrogant or inconsiderate, but helps you to find the delicate balance between the two.

Inner Wisdom

When you find yourself meeting Peacock repeatedly, the animal spirit asks you to connect with your Divine essence. It is time to put mundane concerns and chores to the side for a while and take time out to connect with your inner wisdom. Listen to the messages it has for you. As I like to remind you always, listening is not only hearing voices.

Sensing Spirit can come in many forms, a knowing, words or scenes popping up before your inner eye, a feeling or emotion, or a physical sensation. It may come in the form of a guide, angel, deity or power animal. Be aware and open to all possibilities.

When you meditate upon the present, what you are doing right now in your life, observe yourself closely. What do you feel? Does it feel good or bad, safe or scary, light or heavy and resistant? Determine whether what you are doing is aligned with your deepest aspirations and goals. If you find that you have neglected those things and have come a little off-course, it is time to take the rudder and stir your life again in the direction of what your personal truth is.

Remember that you are never alone. You are always supported and loved, no matter what. Ask your inner wisdom for guidance, or your guides, etc. Imagine standing on a lawn with Peacock standing facing you. Ask your questions and receive the answers.
