21 The World

The World, card #21 of the Tarot’s Major Arcana, is the conclusion of the Fool’s journey through the Major Arcana of the Tarot. It means you have reached a new stage in your life. What this doesn’t mean is your life is over now or that you don’t have to explore new shores anymore. It is more the happy ending of a cycle of personal development, a phase in your life that has come to a final conclusion. You have climbed the stairs and reached a landing, a platform where you feel safe and secure within yourself. You know who you are and what makes you happy.
This is a wonderfully strong foundation for you to rest and gather your strength to start another journey of exploration and personal growth. It is ending and starting point, but neither quite one or the other. It is the deep breath of life you take in-between and appreciate all that you’ve achieved, the wisdom you’ve gained, the life you’ve created for yourself and the self-worth you feel. You have arrived at your center, your spiritual perception of self and your own identity.
At this stage in your life, you know who you are, where you belong and what you’re worth. You are at peace with yourself and the world around you. You have a pretty good idea of what you like and don’t like, what makes you happy and what to avoid if you want to keep your inner peace intact.
Closure & Harvest
It is the end of a cycle and you can rightly feel pleased with yourself, grateful for the complete closure of a situation or relationship, and the new insights you’ve gained. Where you felt resistance and blockages before, there is now free flow and things have set into place beautifully for you to move forward unhindered.
Now use this beautiful energy as the momentum to propel you forward into your next journey, inner, outer, or both. Take heed not to place yourself back into a situation that has not served you well and has left you feeling drained and stuck, maybe even hurt. Use the energy of the World to shift you from these situations and relationships in order to create ones that make you happy, where you can feel free and able to express who you truly are, be yourself and accepted and loved exactly like that.
You may also want to take up a new hobby, join a study group, do a course or experiment with a new form of exercise or spiritual practice next. Have you got an interest in any new creative outlets? Why not enrol in a course to enjoy learning with like-minded people? You may even make new friends there. Remember, the World is your oyster and it is filled with an infinite amount of possibilities!
