Card Number 14 of the Tarot’s Major Arcana is Temperance. Temperance tells us that balance is the key to all. It means, there are no extreme fluctuations as in high and low tides in your emotions. You are focused within, rather than being swayed by outer circumstances. Temperance's keywords are balance, synthesis, purity and healing.

 

She calls to you to center yourself within and connect to your inner Source, your own divinity and wisdom. She reminds you that you are the light and that nothing and no one can really harm you unless you allow it.

 

When you are focused within, outer circumstances or people cannot sway you and throw you off-balance because you do not react to the result of your past thoughts (which is your current outer reality), but you are focused on being in the moment, on the emotions and energies you choose to run on, thus being a proactive creator and not victimised by outer experiences. And it most certainly does not have anything to do with religious dogma on repressed sexuality.

Purity does not mean you have never encountered anything “bad” or “negative.” It means you have not allowed those experiences to colour your thought patterns and habitual reactions. Purity means to be free of blockages as a result of childhood imprinting and socialisation, as well as past traumas. When you are able to let go of that which is less than light within you, of limiting beliefs and perceptions, you not only attain healing but balance and purity.

 

Take time to be still, to meditate and then breathe deeply and connect to the divine light, become it, feel that it is YOU! It will calm you and balance you. The drama in your life will ebb away if you do not give it any energy. From this stillness and peaceful center within, you can start your healing process and slowly let go of all that is less than light, less than freedom of spirit.

 

Discover yourself anew. Discover that you are an all-powerful creator and not a victim any longer. Take responsibility for it and develop your trust in your own powers diligently by connecting yourself to your inner Source, the life force that sustains all. Bring your energies up and disengage from drama and negativity. Look within and do not give in to distractions from outside of you that are only the results of your previous emotions running and already in the past as you experience it.

 

Look within, hug and love yourself, let the tears flow and release with every breath that which does not support you in leading a happy and empowered life!
